The life-saving action took place Sunday, July 28, when paramedic Mike Battistelli and EMT Michelle Edler along with Operations Supervisor Eileen Brophy responded with Stratford Fire Department first responders to the report of a 48-year-old woman overdosing, Stratford EMS said on their Facebook page.
Once on the scene, they found a woman without a pulse and not breathing. Stratford police had already administered a dose of Narcan and CPR and mechanical ventilation was started by Stratford EMS and fire while intravenous lines were established and the patient was administered more Narcan, the department said.
"Return of spontaneous circulation was achieved and the patient was alert and talking upon arrival at the hospital," the department said on Facebook. "This is the way the system is supposed to work and everyone worked together in concert toward this fantastic shared goal! Another amazing job by Stratford Public Safety! "
